Flooring Types

Carpets
The length of time a carpet will last is dependent upon a number of factors: pile fibre, weights of fibre and density of the pile. A heavier weight, combined with a higher density of pile, will tend to last longer than a lighter or looser pile. Combine this with a resilient and soil hiding fibre and you have the best of most worlds. Location is important. You will find that it pays dividends to purchase better quality carpets for heavy wear areas such as living rooms, hallways and stairs. All carpet fibres have something special to offer, whether it is warmth, cleanability, hard wear, fire retardant or even price.

Vinyls
Vinyl flooring has come a long way since it was first introduced and today it's sometimes hard to believe that Vinyl flooring is Vinyl at all. Its stylish designs, practicality, durability and ability to replicate natural materials, like stone, marble and wood has made it a firm favourite in many rooms within our homes. Today's stylish and designer range of Vinyl flooring is unique, hard wearing and can look great in any room, whatever the size.

Wood Flooring
Wood flooring is a wonderful addition to any home, often becoming a feature in itself.

It is crafted from several wood plies that are glued together. The centre core is generally a softer wood material and is used to make the tongue and groove. A hardwood finish layer is glued on top of the centre core and another softer wood ply is attached underneath the core. This top ply is the finish layer and can be constructed of almost any wood species.
